I Prefer To
Mixed Media, 2010
Raw and painted wood, board, aluminum. archival print, 112 x 188 cm (44 x 74 in.), tape

‘I Prefer To’ takes as its starting point the working space provided by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC) residency program. Inspired by contextual as well as formal tensions of the office/studio relationship, the installation also reconsiders Robert Probst’s Action Office, the idea and ideology behind Perpetual Motion, the art movement ‘Konkrete Kunst’, and Herman Melville’s character Bartleby - the Scrivener.

The work was realized for the Open Studio weekend at LMCC, New York
